Rosa Rubicundior, Lilio Candidior (chapter 1)

Gershom sat atop the tree closest to the temple waiting for the sun to set and his mission to begin. He bore scare physical and emotional to this place he once called home. But the sun had fallen behind the westward mountains. He reached into his pouch pulling out a kunai knife and threw it at the unsuspecting guard. It flew across the air and jabbed itself into his head. Gershome leapt from his position on the tree to the lower branches, and then toward the entrance ignoring the guards inanimate body. He tried opening the oversized door. With no success he searched for another way. He spotted a wall that had been more exposed to weathering than the others and had some handholds between the large stones. He scaled the wall with ease heading for the highest point where his prize awaited. He reached the room in little time and found a small window in which he could squeeze through. He proceeded with caution checking every inch and corner he could see by the light of the moon. Gershom found what he had come for. A girl no older than he sleeping quite peacefully but he had no time to waste. He moved swiftly and realized that he could not fit the girl through the small window if he was not to wake her. The only option left was to go through the main entrance. He stepped softly and looked around corners to check for internal guards but there were none to be found. The entrance was around the next corner he was sure of it. He turned and saw it 100 meters away then a voice from the other direction. A guard saw him and did not recognize him and shouted "HATL!" Gershom ran and turned and ran for the doors.
